Autumn descends upon Co Op City and Truman high School

BRONX, NY – Truman High School will hold a series of open house events this fall, offering prospective students and their families a chance to explore its campus and learn about the diverse programs available. The open houses are scheduled from 10am to 2pm each day:

  • Saturday, October 19th
  • Sunday, October 20th
  • Saturday, November 16th
  • Sunday, November 17th

These events are designed to introduce middle school students and their families to Truman’s extensive facilities and dedicated staff. Visitors will be guided through some of the school’s most impressive facilities, including newly remodeled swimming pools, professional-grade culinary arts kitchens, and extensive arts spaces that foster creativity across multiple disciplines. The tours will also feature Truman’s 3D printing lab, a law library complete with a mock courtroom, and a fully-equipped planetarium. Truman staff and current students will be on hand during the tours, providing 8th graders an opportunity to hear firsthand about their experiences and why they feel safe and supported on campus.

“Seeing Truman High School in person is the best way to understand the vibrant, supportive, and innovative community we’ve built here,” said Principal Keri Alfano. “We want every student to have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, and there’s no better way to feel that than by stepping onto our campus and meeting our team.”

“Truman is more than just a school; it’s a hub of creativity and opportunity,” said media teacher Dave Roush. “Whether students are passionate about media arts, science, or law, they will find programs that nurture their interests. The open houses are an excellent chance for families in Co-op City to see firsthand why Truman is a top choice.”

The open houses aim to provide families with a comprehensive overview of the academic and extracurricular opportunities at Truman, allowing them to see how the school’s facilities and programs support student success.
