Culinary Students Score Big Wins

EXCITING NEWS FROM CULINARY CHEF BRYLSKI:

“In October, we began our journey to culinary competition season, with the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) Culinary Scholarship Competition. The five students listed below went through an unbelievable experience, from a rigorous and difficult application process, to a knife skills, salad and omelet competition. Those who finished in the top 24 out of over a hundred competitors from all over New York City made the final round of the competition. Fortunately, 5 of those 24 competitors were our very own Harry S Truman High School Culinary Competition Team. Cristi Gonzalez, Giovanni Gonzalez, Esmeralda Villagomez, Julianne Mayormita, Roshaun Heath. Chef Brylski worked with these student’s day and night mastering their soft skills, recipes, techniques they really put in 100 percent and it showed. Our students’ main goal was to all go to Monroe College in New Rochelle as part of their Culinary Institute of New York Bachelors program.

I’m so happy to announce the following success:

Cristi Gonzalez: won a full tuition scholarship to Culinary Institute of New York Bachelors program. Over $63,000 scholarship
