NEW YORK, NY – Each year, the Walt Disney Company gives students across the New York Region the opportunity to “Get Reel” with their dreams of growing a career in some area of the media industry. On July 10th, those dreams became a little closer to reality for three Truman Media students, as they took home scholarship cash in the 2018 Get Reel PSA Contest.

After attending a day-long workshop event in May, students were encouraged to produce a 30-second Public Service Announcement about a relevant topic of their choosing. Truman Media submitted 15 entries this year. Four were finalists, and three took home cash. That list included:
- Third Place, Derreck Trujillo, “You To, #MeToo,” $8,000
- Fifth Place, Eivind Cuate, “Be Your True Self,” $4,000
- Tenth Place, Emerald Fletcher “Life Happens While You Look At Your Phone,” $1,000.
- Finalist, Moses Perez, “Stay Safe Online”
