Truman Wrestlers Come Out On Top

BRONX, NY – Two senior Truman Mustang Wrestlers recently took home medals at the PSAL Individual Championships, and one Mustang Alumni will be hitting the mats at a national competition in Texas.

Noah Stanley competed in the statewide tournament at the Times Union Center in Albany in March.

Senior Bryan Arroyo took home the Bronze medal at 113 pounds while senior Noah Stanley took home the gold at 285.  Noah’s win marks the first time Truman has had a city champion since 2009.  He went on to compete at the statewide tournament in Albany.  He was accompanied by head coach Teddy Cook.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, 2013 Truman graduate Matthew Rivera, recently competed in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association’s Mid-East Conference Tournament, representing the Penn State DuBois Campus.  At 174 pounds, Rivera took home 5th place, and qualified to wrestle alongside several of his PSU teammates at the NCWA National Tournament in Allen, Texas in mid-March.
