BRONX, NY- It was a night of glamour and excitement as the Bronx Chamber of Commerce came together to honor several of its members for their contributions to the economic growth of the borough, and to celebrate the Bronx’s Centennial. Truman High School’s Air Force JROTC served as the Color Guard for the evening’s opening ceremony. Jonathan Saavedra, Ramona Davis, John Espaillat and Bevin Pryce are part of the JROTC’s award-winning drill team, under the direction of MSgts. Earl Persing and Leon Messina.
“It’s really an honor to be able to participate in such a prestigious event,” said Media Program instructor Dave Roush. “It gives our kids a real taste of what professional networking is all about.”
Roush’s media students Noah Stanley and Britney Chambers put their photography skills to use as the house photographer for guests at the step-and-repeat backdrop. They met and took photos with NHL legend Mark Messier, actor and director Chazz Palminteri and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., among others. Stanley and Chambers are two of four students who will be going to the Student Television Network National Convention in Orlando, Florida with the Media Program in March.
